Getting to Know Me
Sarah Norcross is a New York-based composer and sound designer focused on making the experimental accessible to a wider audience. Her compositions have been heard at The Center at West Park, the Polyphone Festival for New Musicals, the National Gallery of the Arts, Catholic University of America, Carnegie Mellon University, and others. She was nominated for awards at both the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the NY Theatre Festival. She has designed sound for Columbia University, The Tank, The Spade, The Chain, and Adult Film.
My Vision for Narrative Sound
Whether composing or sound designing, everything I do is in service of narrative delivery. Using a deft mix of trope and experiment, I try to innovatively hit the audience right where it matters; striking emotional resonance. I believe that emotional response is the key to bringing experimental and avant-garde ideas to a wider audience and to expanding tastes. Let's see where theater and music can go next together.
